Effective August 21, 2025, ICANN’s new Registration Data Policy will take effect, introducing important requirements for domain registrants, particularly related to the Registrant Organization Field.

To ensure continued compliance, it’s essential to verify that the information associated with your domain registrations is accurate and up to date. Below, we explain the steps you need to take to keep your domains compliant with the new policy.

Registrant Data Accuracy – What You Need to Know

While it has always been required that registrant contact data be accurate and complete, the new ICANN policy underscores this requirement and provides further guidelines around how registrant data is displayed and managed. You must ensure that all registrant information is up to date for any domains you manage.

Registrant Organization Field – Action Required

One area that requires your attention is the Registrant Organization Field. If your domain(s) have an organization name listed in this field, you need to verify whether the information is still correct.

If your domain’s registration data includes an entry in the Registrant Organization field, that organization will be designated as the official Registered Name Holder (RNH) for the domain. While you will still retain full control over managing the domain, please note that the organization listed in this field will be recognized as the primary registrant for the domain.

What You Need to Do:

  1. Verify the Organization Name:
Log into your account and check the Registrant Organization field for any domains in your portfolio to ensure the listed information is accurate.

  2. Make Changes if Needed:
If the organization name is correct, no further action is required.
If the information is outdated or incorrect, it must be updated. You can log in to make the necessary corrections, or you can choose to remove the organization name if it no longer applies.

Important Deadlines:

All updates must be completed by August 21, 2025 to comply with ICANN’s new requirements.

Thank you for your attention to this important update to ensure your domains remain compliant with the latest ICANN policies.
